About

Kessaven is a Barrister who joined Uteem Chambers in September 2017.

Kessaven is regularly called upon to assist and represent clients in civil, corporate and commercial litigation matters before the Mauritian Courts.

Kessaven is also regularly called upon to advice on numerous corporate finance, guarantee and structured finance transactions involving international banks, financial institutes and other multinational corporations.

Kessaven obtained his Bachelor of Laws with Honours (LLB) in June 2014 from Middlesex University (Mauritius Branch).

He completed his Post Graduate Diploma Bar Professional Training Studies at the University of the West of England in Bristol, United Kingdom in 2016 and was called to the Bar of England and Wales at the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple in July 2016. Upon completion of his pupillage, he was admitted to practice at the Mauritian Bar as a Barrister at Law in September 2017.

Kessaven did his pupillage at Mardemootoo Solicitors under the supervision of Me. Manogaran Mardemootoo, C.S.K, Senior Attorney, followed by a pupillage at Benoit Chambers under the supervision of Me. Rishi Pursem, Senior Counsel, and then at the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions under the supervision of Me. M. Naidoo, Senior Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions.

He then completed his pupillage at Uteem Chambers under the guidance of the head of Chambers, Me. Muhammad R C Uteem.
