Dilruba is a barrister who assists in advising on numerous corporate finance, guarantee and structured finance transactions involving international banks, financial institutes and other multinational corporations. She drafts various Mauritius security documents and coordinates with the relevant authorities for registering relevant security interests in Mauritius; undertakes and supervises the release of various security interests registered in Mauritius by drafting the release documents and coordinating with the relevant authorities to ensure that the releases are effected. She regularly carries out due diligence investigations on companies incorporated in Mauritius.

She has assisted in advising a large multinational corporation on the Mauritius aspects on issuance of Islamic bonds of up to Ringgit Five Billion (RM5.0 Billion) in aggregate nominal value in Malaysia.

She has been involved in various project finance transactions, such as, she has recently assisted in advising, a multinational corporation on the Mauritius aspects of financing project for power plant in Republic of Rwanda; an international bank on the Mauritius aspects of financing projects for hydropower station in Zambia; and provided advice in relation to a hydro power plant in Uganda.

She has been involved in various financing transactions, such as, she has recently assisted in advising, OPIC on a debt facility of USD 250 million to a company incorporated in Mauritius; BNP Paribas (China) Limited with the Mauritius law aspects of a secured facility of RMB 300,000,000 to Chinese incorporated borrower; Standard Chartered Bank with the Mauritius law aspects of a senior secured facility of South African Rands One Billion and Five Hundred Million (ZAR 1,500,000,000) and United States Dollars Twenty Five Million and Five Hundred Thousand (USD 25,500,000) to a South African borrower.

Recently she assisted in advising the senior lenders in the refinancing transaction in connection with three Boeing-777 and reviewed various financing and security documents.

Dilruba completed her pupillage at Uteem Chambers (2009) and Etude George Ng Wong Hing, Port-Louis Mauritius (2010). Dilruba has done internships a leading law firm in Bangladesh in 2008 and at the Office of Legal Affairs, United Nations Secretariat, New York, USA in 2007.

Dilruba obtained her LLM in Corporate and Commercial Laws with a Merit in 2007 from the University College London, University of London, UK. She obtained her LLB with an Upper Second Class Honours in 2005 from the University of Westminster, London. She completed her Post Graduate Diploma Bar Vocational Course at the BPP Professional Education, Law School, London, United Kingdom in 2006 and was called to the Bar of England and Wales at Lincoln’s Inn in November 2006. She has been admitted to the Dhaka Bar, Bangladesh in August 2008 and to the Mauritian Bar in September 2016.
